Picked it up at the recent Newcastle gig, although I believe you can get it on Amazon quite easily, it's an excellent listen talking of recent TGOS gigs the Glasgow & Newcastle shows available here http://thehornsoundingfaraway.blogspot.com/

First, thanks to the folks you've mentioned the Proxima CD, glad you're enjoying it. The companion volume Ex Proxima is nearly complete now, and I hope to get it printed up soon. Right. This week... Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma Excellant stuff this. A maelstrom of cut-ups and odd beats. Emeralds - Does It Look Like I'm Here? This weeks Oneohtrix Point Never. Actually really very good. Like a more sunny and easy going Oneohtrix really, lovely lilting analogue dreaminess. Highly recommended if you liked Rifts. Must get more of this lot. Gnod Drop Out With White Hills I don't care about the Neu!ness, I love it to bits! Wishbone Ash - Wishbone Four Nice in the sunshine. Rick Wakeman - 6 Wives of Henry 8th As mentioned elsewhere, I've been really enjoying returning to this after a few decades without hearing it. Not life-changing or anything, but good fun. Mauritzio - M-Series Another good one for hot days. As is Basic Channel - BCD-2 Tetragrammaton - Elegy For Native Tongues Wild and entrancing skronkiness. Sandy Denny - The North Star Grassman and the Ravens Thanks to Sea Cat for reminding me that I needed some solo Sandy. Gorgeous. Eleh - Location Momentum Elegant minimalism. Gas - Nah Und Fern Ambientish sampled strings and soft beats. Nice, but not amazing or anything. Demdike Stare - Forest of Evil Best bit of vinyl this year. Get one if you can. I'm not sure how to describe this, but damn is it good. Thomas Koner - Nunatak Lovely lovely glacial drones, apparently recorded from underwater gongs. Sounds incredibly rich tonally. The second in this series has just been released (also on vinyl), and I'm eagerly awaiting my copy. Focus III Santana - Moonflower Lee Scratch Perry - Arkology All the above three enjoyed with lashings of sunshine and a cool drink.

Rick Wakemnan's 'Six Wives..'. I haven't heard that in years. I'll have to compulsively order it form the Library now. I used to love 'Catherine Howard' in particular. I mentioned Jon Anderson's 'Olias of Sunhillow' on the Bruford thread. That's been getting a lot of play in my den recently. (I don't really contribute to this thread anymore because although I have a big collection, I inevitably keep mentioning the same stuff at some point, so it doesn't make a very interesting post. I get some good tips though folks...) ps: Sandy Denny. Superb!

It makes an interesting diary in some ways, and, as you say, is a great way to pick up tips for things to listen to.

I was thinking about making a seperate post about Emeralds[actually it was about new bands that sound TDish], I saw them live with Painjerk a while back and whilst it was an enjoyable evening it seemed like they had just joined Neu! to Cluster to T.Dream without adding anything new, at the time I thought ''Boy I would love to see their record collection' but didn't feel the need to investigate further, maybe I should as they seem to crop up in these parts more often as time goes by. edit - they obviously have a sense of humour http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/emeralds/bullshit_boring_drone_band/ and a huge back catalogue8-0, stupidselfreleasingpeople do you not know I have children to feed
