I used to keep an old Music for Pleasure album that belonged to my parents by Lee Hazlewood hidden away at the back of my collection, together with a reunion album he did with Nancy Sinatra. Quite proud of them both now. I bought 'Swinging Safari' by Bert Kaumfert for 50p in a charity shop, mainly because of its really tacky cover. I loved it the minute I played it, much to friends' horror. Later found out that my parents had this too! The other album I used to hide away was 'Rock 'n' Roll with the Modern Lovers'. Some mega tunes on that, but Jonathan also chose to do 'The Wheels on the Bus'. Now, you wouldn't want that nestling next to your copy of 'Fulham Fallout' would you?

Recently bought a Stiff compilation, on which Annie duly does a write up, because I remembered 'Reconnez Cherie', 'Semaphore Signals' and, of course, 'Whole Wide World'. Tried really hard to like the rest; kept it on the car stereo for ages! Conclusion: Three fantastic stand-out tracks, the rest are just toss! Sorry...

1: Ted Nugent - Cat Scratch Fever - I think it is now cool to admit to liking Ted Nugent but for years I kept this one hidden when friends came to visit. 2: ABBA - Arrival 3: The Partridge Family - Greatest Hits

One of my guilty pleasures, when I first came to L.A., was finding a leaky sprinkler and squishing in the mud around it. Then, after many months, the rain came and the mud slid down the hills of malibu. Driving home, dodging the football sized rocks falling in malibu canyon, I finaly got the disaster movie concept. Strangely after that first winter my wife had a few things shipped over and opening the crate there I found, lo and behold, our wellies.

"Last night I dreamt I smelt the perfume that you wear When I woke up this morning I still thought you might be there" Brilliany album. Perhaps not really aged that well, but still a corker.

Nothing to be ashamed of. I recently picked up Giant and LiveHypnobeatLive on CD. They (unlike the Farmers Boys) still sound as if they could've been made last week. And are still lovely/mental (respectively).
