Thank you, I remembered many of the songs you suggested and I searched for some of the songs I didn't know on Soulseek, and also searched for the lyrics and discovered that they revealed really interesting intimate insights into the realities of desire and its attendant torments. Elvis Costello, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Van der Graaf Generator, Polly Harvey...

Other memorable winners, in my opinion:

Fleetwood Mac - 'Big Love' (some of Lindsey Buckingham's solo perfomances are quite emotionally charged)

And speaking of South American music, I remember 'Persiana Americana', a song performed by the Argentine band Soda Stereo, whose lyrics are about someone’s desire while observing a woman through an american blind (persiana americana):
