Only got back off holiday this afternoon and there was a Jiffy bag waiting for me on the doorstep. Only listened to it twice this evening but initial thoughts are very positive. I am so glad he missed off those annoying things he seems to add to so many songs of late. Once more it is a very deep and personal offering which will take some time to digest. As for CC it is probably up there with the very best, maybe in 6 months time BS will be up there with it?

Reckon Black Sheep is up there with the best from the offset. It normally takes me some time to get some of Julian's stuff, sometimes even years, but this one I get straight away, but maybe that is because of where my head is at right now. Definitely a relevant piece of work which just seems to get better every time I listen to it.

Well put! Hear hear and all that. It's a cool album. BTW, I saw a black sheep on a Welsh hillside a couple of days ago. Who'dve thought eh?

Got my copy yesterday. I said on another thread that I had none of Julian's music. Only played it once, I like it first listen. All the blow themselves up motherfuckers. Made me smile - (I played that track twice). Tend to agree with a lot of you that the first disc is the weaker of the two. Overall there is nothing on it that I don't like. Lyrically I agree with every thing he is saying. I sure wouldn't have the guts (or the talent) to put it in a song though. Now I just want everyone to get out the house so I can crank it up on my good system and just sit on the sofa and listen without being disturbed. So there you go I popped my Cope cherry.

Four brilliant tracks, some I am still digesting and a fair bit of filler but overall this seems to be a record on the side of the the angels (fallen, dark, arch or otherwise). Not sure it makes it as a double album mind.

I've just had it a day or so and am I couple of listens in. It certainly is a good'un! I can't name favourite tracks yet but it's great to hear Julian singing those kinds of melodies, and lyrically it's fuckin' A. I'm really digging Black Sheep Song, for its sentiment, and for the genius of Julian, after all these years, still singing 'Baa Baa Baa' and ACTUALLY EQUATING IT WITH SHEEP! Very much looking forward to lunchtime when I can listen again....
