Looks as though one of the Drake holy grails has finally been discovered - the complete Peel session from 1969. Seems to be a genuine enough claim: http://www.nickdrake.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=4571

Thats the beauty of music i suppose, everyone gets their own emotion and feeling from whatever it is they're listening to. Some things ya get and some you don't! Most of my mates love The Velvet Underground and Lou Reed. Me? I think They/He are/is the most over hyped bag of bollocks that i have ever heard! I just don't get them at all.

Also, there's an implication in what you said (if I read you rightly) that this is too fucking tragic, as his death was caused by the lack of interest in him and lack of an audience when he was alive, but people suddenly became interested when it was way too late. At least that's what I find most sad about that statistic, anyway.

We have a pristine copy of the later, thought-to-have-been-lost-for-years 1970 session that he recorded for Radio 2's "Night Ride", in the Sound Archive where I work - turned out it had gone missing from the BBC tape vault in Brentford (which is in a currently in a shocking state of disorganisation), possiblly 'liberated' by a former employee. We've been negotioating with both Joe Boyd and Gabrielle Drake with a view to releasing those too. I know from the horses' mouth that what that guy said on the other forum is correct (although I've yet to hear the 1969 session myself). Hopefully there will be enough material for a full album.
