Yep, I'm like that with Radiohead. I have tried to like them - apparently 'OK Computer' is a classic album - but I fail to find anything that 'connects', which is a shame because I like to support local talent.

There's another one for me too!

Have tried/borrowed albums but they leave me cold and i cannot see the appeal at all.

D'ya not think that's a little precious and assuming that people who see the advert and like the music (enough of them buy it to make it popular) should be excluded from such high art?. Drake is already fairly popular and has been for a number of years. His music is played a lot on Radio 2. Yeah - his music is introspective and fairly personal but people are people and have common universal feelings be it whatever - the music is for the world to enjoy. That's why I hate the way the terms 'indie music' or 'intelligent disco music' are often interpreted. They somehow imply that certain people 'get it' and others will never understand.

I think the sign of a great artist is someone who can produce good work and become popular and still produce good work as a result. How many times do you hear people say that they liked the artist before they became popular but don't now? In many cases nothing changes with the artist apart from the fact that their work is much more exposed. It is not surprising people tire of them easily when they are force fed a playlist or advert. So was thinking whether you were coming from the point of view of the dilution factor or not?

...sorry this reads too black and white - I read this again and it's not true in lots of cases. You don't have to become popular and often the choice of the artist dictates this too.

I'll shut up now - where's me tablets.
