from here - https://www.freakemporium.com/new3/index_ns.cgi? make sure you get the cleopatra version - do an album title search with Space Ritual Sundown Deluxe oin there and it will lead you straight to the holy grail. I'm listening to it again now, after having to take off the Axis of Perdition album Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital, due to its utter awfulness.

I was asking a friend about video/film footage of Hawkwind Stacia era. He said there basically isn't any beyond some very blurry hand held stuff (which I think is itself very very short)before the start of the 80s. Is that right? Seems a damned shame. Would love to see some moving image footage from their heyday. I think Blahdvd or play.com have cheaper prices on most of that Hawkwind stuff. the 2cd for £9.99, haven't chhecked for the bRixton set but Seth's review leaves me very tempted. I like the 1999 Party from a couple of years later in '74 too. Stevo Np Congos Children CRying

Did anybody mention these 2 sets Hawkwind / Cosmic Overdrive (Sundown Brixton 1972/Cambridge Corn Exchange 1971/Wembley Empire Pool 1973) on Cadiz/Pinnacle or Space Ritual Alive In London Hawkwind Publisher: Emi Catalogue Number: 724353003227 which I would guess was official, or is that simply half of the subtitle? Stevo, In no order: "Cosmic Overdrive" a) Sundown Brixton 1972 b) Cambridge Corn Exchange 1971 c) Wembley Empire Pool 1973 is but another way of repackaging the following titles and having people shell out for the umpeenth time: a) "Space Ritual Vol. 2" (the earlier version. Same tracks but FAR inferior quality to the recent PP/Cleopatra release) b) "Text Of Festival" (Which is one of the few places with Terry Ollis on drums and interesting extended lengths, but muddy quality makes it good for the archives only) c) "Bring Me The Head of Yuri Gagarin" (Excellent performance, great Calvert rant piece but really, it's an audience tape recorded from a position far from the stage and the quality is very low-fi) ------------------------------------------------------- Yep, that's the original "Space Ritual" -- Probably a take off on the original UA label, which read: 'The Space Ritual Alive In Liverpool and London' ------------------------------------------------------- The only footage from this period Hawkwind I've ever seen is the promo film they had made in '72 of "Silver Machine" that they had TOTP show in lieu of showing up... They mime to the single version dubbed over it ------------------------------------------------------- BeAware: buy the Purple Pyramid re-issue before it goes out of print. It's limited. Buy it...BUY IT... B U Y I T...

I'm confused now. Is "the Purple Pyramid re-issue" the same as the "Hawkwind Space Ritual Sundown Deluxe Ed" under discussion? The internet has the Purple Pyramid edition listed as '2xCD', which the latter isn't.

Vybik! Hey, man; who had this beast down as 2XCDs? I believe the Purple Pyramid and the Cleopatra issue are exactly the same, sound quality-wise Forget ALL OTHER VERSIONS of "Space Ritual" Just for reference, THIS is the one to look out for: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006BXGU/qid=1129312508/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/103-0893468-0886208?v=glance&s=music#product-details

Now someone tell me WHY that the very version I have (see link below) has the "PP" logo printed on the disc and booklet (in a mid-70's UA logo style, no less) but yet, is listed in the link as being on Cleopatra and not Purple Pyramid? http://shopping.msn.com/Specs/shp/?itemId=2379268 I suppose it came out originally without the black "Doremi" box and inserts I tried checking Cleopatra's site a month ago to clear this up, but it was under construction...As it still is So... there you are
