King Crimson - Red: First time i've dug it out in a while and i've been enjoying it quite a bit. Slint - Spiderland: Last week i wasnt overly keen/thought it was "ok" though now it's started to grow on me. Will have to see how it goes i think. Dizzee Rascal - Boy In Da Corner: Got it quite cheep last weekend. Better than Showtime (which i also think is great). I prefer this much more than anything by The Streets (though the first one is good) Espers - Espers: Mmmmmmm, it seems to keep growing on me! Circle - Forest: Very north european in it's sound and feel, really like it! Low + Dirty Three - In The Fishtank: Just cant get enough of this. High On Fire - Blessed Black Wings: Yay! In Gowan Ring - Twin Trees: Tres mysterious and it's so easy to loose yourself whilst listening to this, rather nice indeedy. Beastie Boys - Check Your Head Possibly more, but i cant think right now!!! Have a good week! :) Plus, i've been listening to some "On The Hour" which is brilliantly funny and i listened to some Blue Jam which i really enjoyed also! :)

Leigh Stephens - Red Weather, solid LP by ex-Blue Cheer guitarist, circa 1969. Vermonster - Instinctively Inhuman, 2nd LP of 3 by this brain crushingly great obscure psych band c. 1990-92. Archie Shepp - Attica Blues, weird jazz/soul type of thing from 1972 that was probably intended as a pop crossover. Not what Shepp's known for, but mighty good none the less. Bongwater - Too Much Sleep, sorta reminds me of early Jefferson Airplane (their first 2 LP's with the "echoey folk rock" sound.) Handsome Boy Modeling School - White People, 2nd full length by superproducer duo of Prince Paul and The Automator. On first listen, a lot like their first CD (pretty good ecclectic skit-core in other words.) Plus the monthly radio show, playlist attached.

The theme of this months show is that everything was played off a good ole vinyl LP (hence representing the golden age of the LP, c. 1965-1990.) sorry to be anal, but i've never heard of that swell maps box? is it all the rough trade singles? i'd have snatched it out of his hands... now there's a band that sounds better on vinyl...

except that hippy chick single in the madchester days. can't remember who it was by... two girl singers, funky drummer loop... i think... that was a corker.... he's a better session player than band leader,,,

I usually tape each show (on VHS cassettes because they hold 6 hours), but this time I forgot . . . shucks, since I was constantly cueing up records I hardly got to hear it myself! (CD players are soooo much easier.)
