Soundtrack to our lives: 12th March 05
Mar 13, 2005, 01:47
Well now, what have I been playing this week?

Talking heads? Frank Zappa? Hapshash and the coloured coat? Abba? Teenage Fanclub?

Nope.

Julian Cope? The Men they couldn't hang? Nirvana? Buddy Holly?

Er. No.

Jesus Jones? Bob Dylan? The Pogues?

No.

Samantha Fox?

Not she.

Tangerine Dream? A flux of Pink Indians? Syd Barrett era floyd rarities? Bananarama?

This week, I've listened to nothing.

That's right. Bugger all.

Diddley-squat.

Zilch.

Not a chord. Nary a crotchet has passed my timpanic membrane.

Now doesn't that make a change!

Adds an extra dimension to "Unsung" :)

Anyway, I'm sure other people have stuff that can fill my personal vacuum....

No!....only a citroen saxo....but the day was saved, as later I was in a nearby record shop (piccadilly records)and there was someone (a complete stranger) who was mulling over whether or not to buy a Swell Maps 7" box set for £30.

"What's £30?" I say...."a night on the beer...wasted....when you can enjoy these veritable gems"

Bloody hell, an unknown Maps fan standing right next to me

He should've died years ago. Every record he has a hand in just makes a mockery of the Smiths.
