I agree with you on mid-period Doors; I'd even say I prefer it to late-period Doors (bar the standout songs.) And from what I've read, Cope probably agrees, too - Paul Simpson once said Cope's obsession with "Touch Me" was one of the things that drove him out of the Teardrop Explodes (myself, I think it's a good tune.)
