'Everything's Gone Green' was pretty damn fine, and 'Temptation' too! Ooh, a trip to the library to seek out NO's Greatest Hits is in order, I think. Just for those early singles. 'Substance' wasn't it? And the other track on 'P,C & L' is 'Your Silent Face'.

What is the jangly guitar b side called? Was it the other side of 'Murder'? Can't think...

There aren't really many better ways of spending a half hour than listening to "Never Get Ahead" 10 times though are there? Have you seen the video - it's a masterpiece! He reminds me of Darby Crash in a strange sort of way.

I've been following him since before he had his first record out (hell, I've met him) . . . I think the newest might be his best since the first one. Or at least, I find myself listening to the new one a lot. Compulsively almost.

Didn't know he ever made a video! He should make more.

"Relax" from Bobby's new CD could be the biggest thing since Frankie Goes To Hollywood! (Um . . . )

The video's from a cheesy childrens dance party programme in Chicago called "Chic-a-go-go" so he performs a slightly sanitized version of the song to an audience of confused elementary school children while doing the be-bop tango in a velour jogging suit. He's really out of breath by the end of the song as well, it's quite a disturbing piece of performance art.

Nass El ghiwane - As much of their music as one boy can download. I cant get enough of this stuff at the moment, its healing me, greatly it is. Well this and the acid is anyhow

Levon Minassian and friends - The doudouk beyond borders.

Woah, fucking hell!!! Is this stray ?, u know, that nihilist bloke ? Christ on a bike, he'll be eating lentils, promoting vegetarianism and buying classy coffee tables next. WTF ?

NO! u see, its well... ok, you've got me on that Levon Minassian crap. Can anyone out there recommend some REAL Armenian music ? I'm after the really pained, tortured, crying till the blood pours from your eyes and your battered knuckles stuff that I know is out there somewhere.
----------------------------------------------------
Definition of real, as in usage by stray when referring to what the chattering classes call 'world music' : Not produced by over 120 thousand pounds worth of studio with dirty great big string sections and released on painfully PC and cool record labels. Rather, music recorded by the people who make it, where they make it, without dubs, western retuning or other politeify fuckery. In short. RAW!
=====================================

The Fall - Extricate. Many thanks for this Severin.

Mudhoney - March to fuzz

Butthole Surfers - Rembrandt pussyhorse. Fucking hell, I know we've all been going thru a bit of a 'Locust abortion technician' thing again, as we often do. But, fucking hell. .. hahaha.. did we all forget this fucking diamond or what ?

Oh! I sorta remember that show . . . not that I ever saw Bobby on it.

Lemmy Kilmeister also made a brief appearance on Chica-A-Go-Go!
