Roky Erickson's "Before in the Beginning" contains the repeated lyric:
"When you sing this song,
they won't know what your're talking about"
...but as he then starts reciting a garbled version of the poem on the back cover of Between the Buttons by the Stones, I *did* know what he was talking about.
Frankly, I even knew what Andrew Oldham was originally talking about, in that if you follow the directions in the poem the airbrushed buttons on the sleeve are revealed to be a pair of cats' eyes in a mid 60s precursor to those "Magic Eye" stereograms.
