I don't think you quite got my point. It is that in due course everyone will be far better informed about the terms that Brexit will involve and common sense therefore suggests that the matter ought to be voted upon again when they are.

How is that not a sensible way to run a country?

You poor bastard.....
I see that you are going to be the next 'Sanctuary' of this site.

Let me summarize {from this threads previous responses} the basic answers that you are going to recieve no matter how well you try to state your position:

"Are you fucking stupid!"

"accept facts or shut the fuck up!"

"Seriously, you have nothing and know nothing! Being afraid to accept facts doesn't make you intelligent it puts you in denial. Your stupidity has literally ruined other people's lives, what a shame you're too stupid to realise the consequences of your actions!"

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "!!!!!!!!" "!!!!!"......etc....

Those responses fairly sum up the prevailing mindset of this site, to anyone that bucks the 'hivemind'*...
It's interesting to check out this site for the prevailing ULTRA-left points of view, but the Zeitgeist on offer here has very little to do with anything that will likely happen in reality.
Such is Idealism.

*Hivemind:
A narrow point of view that represents at best, 10% of it's general population seat.

No answer. So I'll take it being opposed to a decision isn't undemocratic.

Now Owen Smith is saying he wants a second referendum or a General Election after the Brexit terms are known. Good for him. The will of the people ought to be clearly expressed on the basis of full understanding.

Just found out who Owen Smith is... he's the guy who is definitely going to lose Labour the next election. If he treats intelligent voters with such contempt.
Of course if Owen Smith won the Labour Leadership Election, then won Labour a landslide Victory in the next General Election.... there would have to be a second General Election because it would be claimed that many of us had no "full understanding" of the consequences of voting for Labour this time... Because we'd already had one Euro Election and a decision had already been made. Though of course Labour lied in order to lead us into War in Iraq, so they have previous form as liars and cheats and happy killers. I mean one Labour "woman" politician even claimed her husband's hotel porn bill on Parliamentary Expenses (and he was with another woman at the time). Shameless... snout in trough... Labour Opportunists thinking "Brexit second referendum might swing a few Tory Voters our way if they think they can save paying tax duties on their Gites in Normandy and Villas in Greece..."

Yeah... go Owen Smith... doesn't his name make you think he is possibly the civil partnership, hybrid love child of John Smith and David Owen?

I can't help but think attempting the 'block' or 'revise' the decision to leave the EU won't go down too well with the other 27 member states.
Kind of mucking them about.
Everyone is entitled to have their view as to whether or not the decision was right but that sense of injustice or otherwise can't be dumped on to others.
To view this decision just from 'our side of things' is incredibly arrogant IMO.
Negotiations work both ways and arriving at certain conclusions relies on what other EU states agree to also, seems Owen Smith is saying 'sod that'.

I'm still of opinion important decisions ought to be taken on the basis of awareness of the consequences and so far this one hasn't been.

Probably worth pointing out that the terms of the referendum was specifically and explicitly that it was "advisory" and non-binding on the sovereignty of parliament. Unlike a general election.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Referendums_in_the_United_Kingdom

Parliament still has to decide whether to follow the outcome or not. If a binding referendum had been the intention it would probably have had a requirement for a "super-majority", typically 2/3rds of the vote.

Anything to get away from celebrating Mr charisma free. Apparently mr charcoal grey on grey wants to be even less colourful after comments he made about lunatics.

Do wonder how long May can keep pushing Brexit (which apparently means Brexit, no more, no less) onto the backburner. Will she be able to continue for 4 more years? Or until the next election.

Has Parliament been asked about deciding? Far as I can see the later the better.
