Interesting article from a few months ago. The most ambitious manifesto (the Lib Dems, rather than Green or Plaid) suggested targeting 2025 as the date by which Wales' electricity could come from 100% renewable sources. The ruling party in Wales, Labour, don't seem to have a specific target in this respect.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2016-wales-36082378

Be interesting to see how this goes under Labour in Wales (this article was the position pre-Assembly elections and pre-EU referendum).

Apparently when polled, the UK population expect to see the majority of electricity being produced from renewable sources by the 2020s, which is more ambitious than current government targets could match. Renewable sources currently account for less than 20% of the UK's energy.

One other thing, much of the power generated in Wales is consumed in England. I'd like to see England take on more responsibility for generating its own renewables, rather than rely on windfarms in Mid-Wales, for example.

I'm sure I remember reading a couple of years ago that Scotland made enough energy from renewables they had surplus and sold it overseas. Thinking on that it's a bit of a no brainer to use renewables. We're a perfect country situated to utilise it instead of building new nuclear power plants with reactors that don't work

£700bn!

Horsepiss I'm afraid. Just typing those numbers doesn't make it so.

"Then there's the trillion lost in future revenues from the interest on the 250billion... which was going to be lent out to Space Pixies... who were going to repay it in Martian Rubies and Unicorn Sperm."

Where was this 700 Billion actually lost? If it was lost - it has to be somewhere. Where is it NOW and more importantly where was it THEN? We need actual details. Links and proper documentation.

Otherwise it is rocking horse shit, horse feathers, fairy hammocks and the jizz of Satan.

Are you fucking stupid! It was all over the bloody press!

No. I'm not stupid. F*cking or otherwise. Simply because the Daily Telegraph says it doesn't make it so.

I give you "Weapons Of Mass Destruction" as a prime example. They were lies peddled by a Government and reported as fact by Newspapers.
The alleged wiping of British Companies hasn't really manifested itself has it? Indeed the first newspaper report states that in the four days following the Brexit vote only 98 Billion was wiped off of British Companies.
If the Bank of England lost 700 Billion propping up Britain against the toxic Euro then shouldn't the Governor of the Bank of England be in jail for financial mismanagement?
I suppose their toxic economic swindles from a few years back are just too much to reisist trying to rob us again.

No it doesn't. That is just rubbish Maths I'm afraid. Mix Apples with Oranges and produce gallons of Pixie Semen to try to prove whatever point you are railing against. Doesnae work.
You are a very sweary, angry person who cannot accept Democracy and suffers from Cognitive Dissonance. I will speak my mind and I won't shut up because some "Friend of the Currency Fiddlers" wants to cuddle up to Ukrainian Nazis and flood our country with the angry and dispossessed from his favourite War Machine's wholesale destruction of the Middle East. See what that kinda thing does for jobs in your England.

The Euro is finished. You have to accept that. It was the battering ram and we decided not to get taken up the council gritter. If you fancy it... maybe move the The Ukraine or something.

That was the annoying claim thrown about on this forum immediately after the vote by someone who has now absented himself. How is deeply regretting a vote not accepting democracy? If a General Election goes against your views do you accept it as right because a majority voted that way or do you push hard to reverse it as soon as you get an opportunity to do so? The latter, obviously, and that's how 48% of people are thinking no doubt, and rather than meekly accepting what's happened they may well be hoping that 48% grows to 55% as the consequences become clearer. How is that undemocratic?

Seriously, you have nothing and know nothing! Being afraid to accept facts doesn't make you intelligent it puts you in denial. Your stupidity has literally ruined other people's lives, what a shame you're too stupid to realise the consequences of your actions!
