Re: Corbyn
Jun 28, 2016, 10:49
There was a piece on the Craig Murray website yesterday about how they're all shitting themselves because of the impending Chilcot report. Some of them, including Benn, voted for the Iraq war, some voted for Libya and some voted for Syria so the release of this and Corbyn's looking to have Blair tried for war crimes isn't going to look too good for them.

Make of it what you will though

This is the only thing to have put a smile on my face since last Friday.

Said to Farage by former Belgian prime minister, Guy Verhofstadt, now an MEP, at the emergency MEP meeting: 'Let's be positive, finally. We're going to get rid of the biggest waste in the European Union....your salary.'

Hah! I saw his performance at the EU Council this morning and his contemptible "you're not laughing now" comment. What an absolutely appalling person. I'm certain a large percentage of the people who voted to leave now feel they have been duped. I can't (won't) believe they are all racist, stupid or just old - perhaps susceptible the what they read in their newspapers or heard on the tv and many may not have even decided until they got to the polling station. I'm so glad I voted to remain because I don't I could live with it if I had gone the other way. When all is said and done though, we have to carry on and live alongside each other - we are still a democracy. For now anyway.

Fishing quotas
Jun 28, 2016, 14:42
Contrary to Leave campaign statements, it seems unlikely that British fishing quotas will increase post-Brexit.

oh you're all sunshine this afternoon aren't you. no pun intended.

yep it's all going down the pan. I was just doing some reading, about the chalk grassland down the road. It was protected at a European level by being a Special Area of Conservation. Ooops that'll be gone. And it would have had money from EU schemes supporting the Biodiversity Action Plans that were. Oh no more of that. Repeat for a thousands of places, reserves and agri-environment protected land all the country over. Our countryside is screwed.

"It wasn’t the EU that gave almost two-thirds of the entire fishing quota of England and Wales to just three companies - it was the British government." Oh well, but if you can blame the EU then why not.
