Indeed. The Coalition will no doubt take any opportunity to smear him as an old school Luddite Socialist, in thrall to the unions, much like the Thatcher administration did with Michael Foot. I'm not sure the mud will stick so easily this time round though - the Tories have a much slimmer majority than they had in the 80s, and people are (as Mooncat points out above) getting more cycnical about the side effects of unfettered free-market capitalism thanks to the recession. Plus he's somewhat younger and more charismatic than Michael Foot.
