Oh yeah of course they would!

The thing I always found embarrassing is when hippies, punks, alternative types- would wear little badges with the face of Stalin on them (or any other communist 'leader')-

You get folk on these pages from time to time, moaning endlessly about music folk who earn lots of cash, but those moaners would secretly love to have a tenth of those earnings and generally live a better lifestyle....
.....ah...but, they must be seen to champion the underdog wherever possible and pretend to revel in poverty themselves......but hang on....computers cost money don't they? Er........

It's hilarious to read at times.
