Yeah, aqk's right, I was referring to urges for procreation, sorry if I was unclear.

With small tribes, rubbish medical provision and a high infant mortality rate procreation's gota be a big priority for survival. Which is why they invented taboos against homosexuality, menstrual sex, masturbation and commands to go forth and multiply.

In a world of huge overpopulation these ideas need kicking the fuck out, yet still the Vatican says a marriage is not complete if it's childless. Thanks a bunch, guys. More Western consumers, just what the world needs.
