No; Tenrikyo actually isn't Buddhism per se. It's one of the 'new religions' in Japanese culture, takes some aspects from several different directions to come up with a syncretistic approach.

I belong to Jodo Shinshu Nishi Hongwanji-ha...in the continental USA, the Buddhist Churches of America. It's one of the Pure Land sects, and it's been in the USA since 1898. Most of the membership is Japanese or Japanese-American, but in the past 15-20 years there's been a steadily-growing increase in membership outside of that community, especially as a lot of Shin Buddhist texts make their way into English translation.
