Personally, I don't think he's any more or less dodgy than most MPs, but to me this definitely has the air of a set-up about it. This is especially likely in the light of the SPI get-out clause, as this leaves the Torygraph in a position where they don't even have to fully substantiate their discovery in order to make mud stick.

I'm don't trust any successful politician as duplicity is a pre-requisite of their job to some degree, but at the same time I'm not convinced. All sounds a bit reminiscent of Derek Hatton to me... and the other smears that have been mentioned here, like the Zinoviev letter.
