Simple question: What is the best 'new' site you visited this year?
I have been fortunate to visit several places I had wanted to see for years - Clava Cairns, Grimes Graves, Seahenge timbers etc but I will pick Paviland Cave. It felt such an achievement to have finally got there after my previous failure. It is an atmospheric place which is of obvious prehistoric importance.
Paviland Cave is still high on my list to visit Carl. I had a long weekend on the Gower peninsula a couple of years back but didn't manage to find it.
This year I would pick http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/9321/doonmanagh_puicin_an_chairn.html
We use the word 'magical' quite a lot - this really was. Found while exploring the Dingle peninsula earlier in the year.
