While we were in Cornwall in the summer there was an item on the regional news about a farm near (but not on/in) Dartmoor, facing south away from the moor towards the sea (I guess in South Hams?), where the farmer had been given planning permission to cover a field in solar panels, which were laid out in such a way that there would be grazing strips between the rows so that sheep could continue to graze there. I'm not entirely sure of the animal welfare issues that might arise (if any) but this seemed a pretty ingenious use of land to me.
