I know its grey, cold and miserable outside but TMA has sunk deep down into the doldrums, so as Nigel is'nt answering ;) I'll put your suggestion for the southern meet up on the relevant thread. Don't think August 1st is a good idea though, perhaps the weekend before....

Not sure about Long Meg on the 21st

However you probably want to avoid Castlerigg on 20th / 21st if there is a sizable gathering as there will already be a large number there

Parking gets tricky and police patrol the road

We stay in the lakes this time every year at this time

Depending on what sort of accommodation people want the travel lodge at Penrith is excellently placed to visit both Castlerigg and long meg (if its good enough for JC on the TMA video then who are we to argue!)

The Megaltihic Tours guys were at Castlerigg for the Solstice

They mentioned this in the cafe after down in Keswick after the sunrise

Will check my diary

Some interesting topics but the whole crop-circle, re-birthing stuff is far too New Age-y for me, I am afraid. Shame though, some of it looks OK

Vx

I know what you mean, but always nice to meet people & hear their views!

Even a cynical old 80's goth like me is willing to give stuff a try sometimes

One of the things I love about solstices at castlerigg is meeting a whole cross section of people

Hell I'm a chartered accountant these days - how un new agey can you get!!!!!!

The Travelodge is currently £60 per night over that weekend, no special offers on I am afraid!

Am quite happy to do any weekend, it was just a suggestion.
