Unfortunately its no joke - badgers have no natural predators (bar man) and their population has grown to the size where the set-building by male badgers is causing an archaeological problem on some earthworks. Badgers tend to want to dig where soil has already been disturbed and so things like barrows and banks (of say enclosures) are very appealing to them.
