I used to go and see all the reggae gigs in London back in the Aswad/Misty haydays. I saw Misty about 6 times and Aswad probably as many. Black Slate too - they were good live, although I don't think I've ever owned any of their albums. I actually played dominoes with Black Slate back stage once!

We used to go to SOAS almost every week. Reggae bands would almost always play there at the start of any UK tour, and we saw loads of amazing stuff there for such a tiny venue. They'd always have a massive soundsystem there which really warmed the crowd up too. Seeing Prince Far I there was probably one of the best gigs I've ever been to.

I also used to see loads of reggae when I lived in Brixton a couple of years or so later. Loads of good stuff used to be on at the Fridge (before it was called the Fridge - can't recall the name now). And I was lucky enough to see Culture and Peter Tosh at the Rainbow too (on seperate nights).
