Re: i stand corrected

i first saw him on the "david byrne" tour, when he had grown his hair long, which was weird enough (as i wasn't expecting it).

i do like the way he does that "stop making sense" thing of gradually building up the band as each song is performed.

i could bore for england about him, he really is rather talented and lovely.

Talking Heads were the first band i ever got into (Remain in Light was the first album i ever bought), and to this day i still find myself obsessively completist with TH and DB. Books, movies, music, and plenty of ticket-stubs.

First saw him live at a sit-down acoustic set around the time of "David Byrne" (just him, a bassist and a guy doing minimalist percussion). Since then i've followed as much of his last two tours as i could afford (i never pass up an excuse to head over to Amsterdam for instance :-) and am consistently impressed with his recorded output, his books and his live performances.

As you say; a rather talented and lovely man.

I liked what he did for the Fun Boy 3. Has he produced anyone else?

He produced a B-52s album (Mesopotamia), and a Margareth Menezes album (Eligibo) as well as Fun Boy Three's "Waiting".

Also producer / co-producer of a lot of albums released on his Luaka Bop label (most of which i've got, and most of which are really quite good).

my niece has both albums. Some good tracks on both IMHO. If you like catchy pop - and I do, but that might be because I don't listen to it properly :O)

As we speak, there's a confused teenage boy somewhere who's latched on to Pink the way I did to Madonna many, many years ago. Hopefully he'll eventually see through her for the calculating, detached phony she is the way I saw through Madonna. And they both have really awful nasal voices.

But, hey, if anyone really does like her songs, WEFYB.
