Agreed. The most compelling bit of Julian's writing since Krautrocksampler.
That and the wonderful alt version of All the Blowing Themselves Up... are worth the price of entry.

I really don't get it. I listen for irony, but I don't think it's there.

EDIT: unless, of course, he means freeing Jewish people from the actions and policies of the State of Israel...



He addresses these "controversial" topics in the Notes, saying he held back on some even more thorny ones. I don't believe we have to love everything he sings, and he's so vague at times it's hard to perceive exactly what message he's sending out. Most of the time, I take the lyrics not as gospel, but as information.
