Saw him in Irvine (Scotland) in the mid-eighties. He was brilliant. After the gig, he collected his cash and was driven straight to Prestick Airport to fly back Northwest Orient to USA. Me and a pal trailed Chuck's car the ten miles or so down from Irvine. Pulled up at the "terminal gate" and my mate pressed a slightly alarmed Chuck for an autograph on his ticket stub (I'd lost mine). A bemused Chuck stumped up the autograph.
