Think it was only a couple of weeks ago I read something asking if Chuck Berry was the oldest living Rock & Roller. RIP.

RIP great, great man. Original Groundhog Bob Hall who played keys for Chuck was a customer of mine..heard a few tales. What a character. This is a biggie. But nobody can say he didn't have a fuck of a life, even ending it with a new album. Dude.

A true giant of 20th Century music. Without Chuck, no Beatles, no Stones, Elevators, Pretty Things, fuck, no rock 'n roll music. But can everybody please stop using the word 'shit'. I saw 'that' video once and it still haunts me.

Glad to say that i got to catch his act on a very memorable concert date with Joan Jett and Cheap Trick supporting in San Diego, circa summer 1981.... He was the same age then as i am now, and it makes me realize the passage of time, as i recall that he seemed an 'old' man at that time to my 19 year old self.... Time goes by. Keep on a reelin' and a rockin' Chuck. Absolutely timeless legacy.

Sad news indeed. I've always loved the rehearsal scene of Hail Hail Rock'n'Roll when Keith was learning his lesson from the master. https://vimeo.com/18623223

Just read this a few months back. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/oct/18/chuck-berry-new-album-first-in-38-years Saw him in Irvine (Scotland) in the mid-eighties. He was brilliant. After the gig, he collected his cash and was driven straight to Prestick Airport to fly back Northwest Orient to USA. Me and a pal trailed Chuck's car the ten miles or so down from Irvine. Pulled up at the "terminal gate" and my mate pressed a slightly alarmed Chuck for an autograph on his ticket stub (I'd lost mine). A bemused Chuck stumped up the autograph. Class.
