It's almost exactly a year since the camping trip with one of my best mates from school and his elder brother, where his elder brother, Rob, expressed an interest in writing lyrics and adding vocals to some of my 20 year old tunes.
One year on and I've gotten about 6 tunes re-vamped (and one new one) and in various stages of re-recorded, but nothing properly finalised to show thus far. Two of the re-recordings have vocal tracks, two more of the old 4-track demos have about half their lyrics done.
Rob has been working on getting his own album up to scratch to try to promote off the back of the project he did with Colin Edwin, which is being released later this year.
Might put some work-in-progress type bits up on Soundcloud some time soon, keen to see what people think and what advice I can get on how to improve things.

Somewhat embarrassing really ... pretty much since setting up my Soundcloud page, I've put bugger all up there and it looks like I've just been sitting on my hands for years.
Re-doing old stuff ... a lot of it pretty sparse and requiring new parts to be written ... has been a reasonable way of starting to get to grips with digital workflow and getting back into noize-making.

I have not been doing mych in the way in music. Fatherhood came along in 2008 and performing and creating took a backdoor, I am hoping to get some solo recordings again soon and a possible 20th anniversary of Bloco Vomit the samba punk band I sang and played guitar. Maybe even a Gare Rama greatest hits album ...

It's a shame you can't hook up with likeminded heads in London. I know several bands ~ one of which, probably a bit rockier than you're seeking, are in search of a bassist/ Deviant Amps (in case you fancy investigating).
Thanks KC. Great that you are still listening to those records. The Dunes' second has been tearing it up on YouTube. Which is mysterious as no one really noticed when it came out.
Ideally I want to be in a Rachel's type band (would love to find a viola and/or cello player that leans that way) and work the European improv corner of rock but still be a band that can also do stuff that is a little more song oriented. If you stumble over any string players send them my way.

Just about to release a mixtape on Fag Ash Records ... ive been on this tape for 3 years so it'll be good to get it out. Its called 2 scoops of fleas by john consequence and the piss crystals.
Also working on my new projects Jah Farrah Fawcett and yellowtennisballpsychos after having kicked my old moniker the moon is a spaceship into touch
