Gordon Anderson is certainly a Barrett of the modern age but there are also definite touches of Syd's gonzo approach within the Beta Band that he left behind (She's The One, the lazy strum of It's Over and particularly Dr Baker which is sort of Jugband Blues performed by Faust).
