Absolutely! I'd second both of those recommendations without reservation, and add that the Bee Gees' stakes its flag in similar territory, as does Emitt Rhodes' "American Dream". Michael Brown's post-Left Banke project Montage is worth a punt too, even if it's not quite up to his previous group's standards.

Meanwhile, if you're not averse to a dash of electronica with your baroque pop, there's Caribou's "Andorra" from 2007, which features a song named "Desiree" in obvious homage to the Left Banke track of the same name, even though it's a totally different song.
