Hunter T Wolfe wrote: Julian Cope Sisters of Mercy David Bowie It's weird, I chose these artists because they were all hugely formative to me and also because they're the only acts where I own pretty much everything they've done. But I haven't listened to a Sisters record for years, and I don't play Cope or Bowie at home that often either. If I went for what I mostly listen to these days, it would go more like Neil Young Pentangle Hawkwind or more likely Whatever link someone sent me I need to catch up with Whatever I just found in a charity shop on the way back from Morrisons Whatever I'm meant to be reviewing for the Quietus this week

I'm like you with my top 3 (above) in that I can go for ages without playing a note of their music (unless there's a new thing released) but the stuff is so coded into my DNA now, that it's just...there!

Yeah, that's the thing. They play in my head all the time so putting a record on is often superfluous, especially when there's so much new stuff to hear. Those top 3 still remain the artists that are most "me" though.
