Were they Prog? Think of them as more of a Folk-Classical hybrid. Folk Rock seemed to have a less of a difficulty giving women a leading creative role. Prog not so much.

I think most fans of the symphonic end of Prog would want to include Renaissance, and although Annie Haslam's input amounted 'only' to her vocals, most of the band's lyrics were written by non-member lyricist Betty Thatcher.



I should go have another listen. They didn't do much for when I gave them a go way back when. I have them filed away in my head with Sky and the Moraz era Moodies. What is essential?
