Hehe! - music for swinging klingons! Classic! Mate, some of them jazz cat bassists would intimidate the devil himself! Believe me, I got your albums, you no slouch!!! Some great playing on that Lunar Dunes From Above record! Style of playing on that Lp reminds me of Roly's stuff for the Ozrics, at times. Great stuff! Aether

I really appreciate that though it's kind of funny as well as I didn't like the Ozrics at all. At 19 I just wanted to play like Jimmy Garrison and Charlie Haden but had to settle for a more rudimentary Tina-Weymouth-In-Dub approach. I blame my lack of jazz chops on sheer laziness on my part having been distracted by the desire for food and shelter and a social life. Watching orchestral players on the other hand tends to just make me want to give up entirely. Then again would they be happy playing five notes for two hours?

yeah, I believe Charlie Parker got his exercise/practice regime up to 15 hours a day at some point. You gotta draw the line somewhere! Aether

Aether Like most rock people who were too young for the chops-for-days era I think I probably settled for a 45 minute noodle between breakfast and the pub opening.

Well maybe rip off is harsh, but 'Rhubarb' is probably the most similar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVvjXJentik there are a couple of earlier tracks too that I can't remember the names of that have more than a passing resemblance compositionally and in terms of their production (the synth sounds/pads).
