Edgar Froese - Solo box Nice to get this, particularly for Epsilon in Malaysian Pale. Not too sure about all of it though. V/A - Head Music Even if I wasn't on this I'd be raving about it. Some fantastic music on it. If you haven't ordered a copy get thee to Norman Records ASAP or you'll miss out. Same goes for Sorrow's Children which I'm not on! White Hills - Frying on This Rock I think this is bloody marvellous. Just brilliant. Tlaotlon - Squirt Image Flex Great Trensmat release. Warm Digits - Keep Warm with the... Gorgeous analogue electronics, very cuddley! The Heads - Radio 1 RSD catch. It bloody rocks! As does... The Heads - Enten Eller Sigur Ros - Ekki Mukk RSD 10". Plays inside out. Weird. I wondered why it finished every time I started it. Teeth of the Sea - Your Mercury & Orphaned by the Ocean God these are two fine albums. Sylvester Anfang II - Perzische Tapijten So much good stuff! As I said elsewhere, this album for me is a weird psychedelic black hole which I'm regularly disappearing down! Gnod - Chaudelande II Rocks. Nuff said. Goat - Goatman Dalai Lama Rama Fa Fa fa - You Make Me Crazy T. Rex - Telegram Sam / Metal Guru (blue RSD 7") These three 7" have reminded me why the single was such a great format. Bevis Frond - The Leaving of London Dead Sea Apes - Lupus, Astral house Both fab. If it weren't for there being so much amazing stuff around at the moment these would have been top of the list. White Hills - Oddity II Ace madcap collection. El Doom & the Born Electric - S/T Mark Fry/The A Lords - I lived in Trees Elephant9 - Dodovoodoo Traffic - John Barleycorn Must Die The Nazz - Open Our Eyes anthology Kiss - Rock n Roll Over, Hotter Than Hell PAAAARRRTTTTY TIME! Hoorah for dumb-ass rock n roll. Plus bloody loads more. Blimey this is a good period for music. Was listening to some YouTube clips of Ty Segall and White Fence last night, cracking stuff. Not to mention the Mark Fry/Matthew Shaw track - yum!

Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt - Not happened for a long time. Heard this being played in Fopp and had to be an immediate purchase. Have never heard of them (I'm sure a lot of Heads here will have) but this is from 2004 and love it. All sung in Swedish. Sounds a bit like Hendrix jamming with a Swedish Super Furry Animals with Chris Corsano on drums! Psych pop hooks aplenty as well. Keiji Haino, Jim O'Rourke, Oren Ambarchi - Imukuzushi. Sort of expected another slow unfolding ambient type of album but this is manic power trio. Haino off the scale. Ambarchi plays the drums! Sleep Research Facility - Stealth. Brilliant new dark ambient. One for the headphones. Other spins: Sun Ra & his Solar-Myth Arkestra - The Solar Myth Approach Vol 1 & 2 Tyrannosaurus Rex - Prophets, Seers & Sages, The Angel of the Ages and Unicorn Nels Petter Molvaer - Baboon Moon Andrew Paine - After Wednesday Brian Lavelle - Just a Song at Twilight Hallock Hill - Found Objects Susanna - Wild Dog Duane Pitre - Origin The Psychgeographic Commission - Urban Psychetecture St Francis Duo - Stephen O'Malley and Steve Noble William Basinski - Disintegration Loops I & II Sly and the Family Stone - There's a Riot Goin On Groundhogs - Live at Leeds 71 Don Cherry - Symphony for Improvisers Have a great week all.

IanB wrote: Rip Rig & Panic - I Am Cold, Attitude & God How much longer must they tolerate not getting their due? Beefheart meets Liberation Music Ensemble. What's not to like Post Punkers? Totally agree. Amazing couple of albums. Sad thing is I'm not sure they were ever even released on CD. Probably first time I came across Don Cherry as well.

The only thing that I heard that I'd bare to mention is (don't laugh!) Insane Clown Posse(!) I know I disparaged them here in the past but a younger noise musician from a small town was telling me about them recently and lent me his copy of the Great Milenko. So I have to say that, yes, this group can be quite hokey and over-the-top cartoonish, but their approach to sound-design is high art. Not knowing much about hip-hop, I'd say this album is definitely psychedelic and no doubt they must have heard Sgt. Pepper at least once... ICP has been cited for violent content in the past, although also some complain about their apparently covertly "Christian" message (although on this album they do mock TV preachers), but I definitely see why they appeal to alienated small-town kids. Only God can judge the Juggaloos!

I love the format although some might say that this is my mid-life crisis equivalent of a big shiny red sports car. Not heard the Dalai Lama... one but that Goat single is great. And although in the great scheme of things I don't exactly need another copy if Telegram Sam or Metal Guru I'm just a tiny bit jealous of you here!

Modern Life Is Rubbish – Blur Trans-Love Energies – Death In Vegas Special Kiss – Gumball Sniper - Marc Hurtado & Alan Vega Blood Pressures – The Kills Sisterworld - Liars Raven In The Grave – The Raveonettes Man In A Burning Shed Vols 1 & 2 – Paul Simpson One Stormy Night – The Wild Swans Jack White's Blues – V/A Song, by Toad Records 2012 Sampler – V/A Plus... Rome 2012 – Roger Daltrey Chicago 1969 – Howlin’ Wolf Live 1992 – John’s Children The two tracks I've enjoyed most this week are tracks that are on bonus discs of albums – D.I.V.’s Your Loft My Acid (Fearless' Trans House Mix) and the Duotonal mix of The Liars No Barrier Fun with Alan Vega’s voice filling in the gaps in a manner that only he can. And a quick mention for Paul Buchanan on Later. On a programme that often features the wacky or the mundane, this was the Blue Nile man singing in that unmistakable voice backed only by a restrained Jools on piano. It really was rather lovely.
