The amazon write-up does say 'includes themed track samplers' so there must be something there(?) Like maybe a smaller something? The fancier version isn't on amazon either, so the description isn't just a copy-and-paste; At least not from elsewhere on the site... Time will tell I spose.

the write up is straight from the faber announcement. That 'themed track samplers'line is a bit odd, but judging from how they describe the limited edition version, it sounds like something other than three cd's http://www.faber.co.uk/work/copendium/9780571281930/

BTW anyone receive their copies yet? Comments, opinions (your own), or possibly a track listing for the 3 cd compilation would be nice. (Also, found a pic of it on Rough Trade's twitter feed) https://twitter.com/RoughTrade/statuses/221275625514741761

Received my copy yesterday. Excellent service from Faber & Faber. Ordered on Friday, arrived on Monday. What can I say? It is a thing of beauty for sure. Book and cds cased in a cloth bound presentation box, with embossed front imprint. Leatherbound hardback book with silver front imprint. I'll try and post the tracklists later. Being a book designer myself I can see how much work this package has taken to put together. Much of the work would have been done by hand, so in my opinion £120 is a fair price for it, especially as it included delivery (it's a weighty piece, believe me).

I was gonna post the tracklist, but didnt get round to typing it out yet. The tracklist doesnt seem to have been posted anywhere else on the internet so far, so cound't do a quick cut and paste. Something that I noticed while uploading the disks into itunes over the weekend was that CD 1 has a more tracks on it than the books says it has. The CD database that iTunes uses didn't recognise the track names, and I haven't listened to it properly yet, so dunno what they are. I think my CD 1 has about 17 tracks, whereas the book says it should have 11 (I think).

Can you identify the other 6 by ear? Looks like cds are grouped by how old they are. Nice to see Monoshock on there, they deserve mucho respecto, and that Gunslingers track is fucking perfect. I suppose with 120 albums, it's hard to chose exactly what should be included. Might have to make up my own compilation, Temple of Bon Matin surely deserves to be included.

I know I'm not being rational, but there you go. If you haven't got it, "Psychedelic Revolution" is in actual shops. I've seen it in HMV and Fopp at least.
