Whilst I'm sure he'll be missed I don't think he was your standard frontman, saw them live a while back and was surprised how low key his presence was. Have always wondered quite why CBP are not bigger than they are, maybe a new voice will put them up where they belong I remember seein Joe Volk with Gonga - definitely a low key kind of frontman. Didn't stay with them long.

I dunno! I've got the first album and they bought out a mini-album/ep awhile after and I love them both. I believe there was another album that was very late coming with a different line-up but I didn't get it - shame on me - and I've not heard anything since. Saw 'em a couple of times and they were great!

Please don't ask me which ones because finding stuff in my collection is a bit of a challenge atm. Never saw them live but I can imagine a vibe like The Heads?

Not seen the Heads but I imagine Gonga live in comparison had/have a bit more of a stoner/downtuned Sabbathy vibe than the space-rockier/punkier heads.

A bit of retro mid 2000s classic rock this week!! - Comets on Fire - Blue Cathedral Grails - Burning Off Impurities Grails - Black Tar Prophecies Howlin' Rain - s/t (didn't really like this back in 2006, it just wasn't the Comets, but 6 years later it now sounds good to my years). Moon Duo - Mazes Yamantaka//Sonic Titan - YT//ST Nurse with Wound meets SunnO))) - crikey, listened to this for the first time on headphones in the dark drifting in and out of sleep. Frightening!
