It's a corker. Wasn't too sure straight away, but it has really grown on me.

Been really bastard ill, but have managed a few listens whilst illing...

Best by some distance has been this...
http://mmoss.bandcamp.com/album/i
Go have a listen, now. Picked up on it reading Optical Sounds 3
http://opticalsoundsfanzine.blogspot.com/
which also features a re-print of a Black Tempest review :-)

Psychic Ills - Hazed Dream
Gorgeous. Slow and sumptuous.

Mugstar/Oneida - Collisions 2
Bloody fab slice of vinyl with a brilliant cover.

Fabric - A Sort of Radiance
Emeralds-related vinyl on Spectrum Spools. Really lovely.

White Hills - H-p1
Wasn't too sure about this at first, but I think that's because it is a very adventurous selection for the WHs. Excellent.

Oneida - Rated O
Picked this up coz I enjoyed Collisions 2 so much. 3 CDs for under a tenner? No brainer.

Cave - Neverendless
This is fab. Must get Psychic Psummer too now.

Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Lost Trident Sessions
A bit like Between Nothingness & Eternity, but if anything with a bit more oomph and fire. Marvellous buy for less than a fiver.

If I could only stop coughing and wheezing long enough I've d/loaded a load of WFMU live recordings by Oneida, Moon Duo and others to listen too. Damn you, chest infection. In the meantime, I can't recommend that Mmoss album enough - please go visit that Bandcamp address and listen to it NOW!!!

I love that album. And the the 'lost' mythology of it only adds to its allure in my mind. Imagine rummaging around and finding those tapes! Some of it is proper Mahavishmetal. That is a good thing.

Soz to hear you're feeling a bit grim Mr Squid. Get well soon!

You probally need some huge riffs up yer ass - metaphorically speaking. I don't mean in the sense of some rock-based suppository. I'd imagine that would be awkward and uncomfortable for all concerned.
It's a proven fact proven by top scientists that are well versed in science that mega-riffs can more or less allieviate most ailments and in all probability, save the world from itself. FACT!

get well soon dude!

How could i ignore such a commanding request ! ( i'd been meaning to check them out since reading the article in Optical Sounds myself, your enthusiasm's contagious, no, not the right word at this time, so hope you get well soon,. Can kinda appreciate how you feel as i've been suffering the same symptoms for the last two weeks but not to the degree you have. Er, feel like wearing a nose guard just to camouflage the over-ripe strawberry that's presently masquerading as a beak though )

Very much liked the snippets i heard, will try and cop the vinyl later tonight.
