LP’s SECULAR WORKS – Extra Life REAL NEW FALL ALBUM (AKA COUNTRY ON THE CLICK) – The Fall STAND UP – Jethro Tull ORACULAR SPECTACULAR – MGMT MONOLITHS & DIMENSIONS – Sunn O))) SARATOGA SPRINGS 1983 – Talking Heads WORLD OF HITS VOL 2 – V/A Decca compilation with likes of The Move, Amen Corner and Small Faces mixed up with records I know I probably shouldn’t like but do - such as I Can’t Let Maggie Go, Pied Piper and – I’m ashamed to say! – I Was Kaiser Bill’s Batman! And Telstar, mentioned elsewhere here, is included. I could do without Lulu’s Shout with that “Hey-ey-ey-ey” yell in that stupid voice, mind... 45’s LOVE HANGOVER – Associates BOAT TO BOLIVIA – Martin Stephenson & the Daintees EVERYTHING COUNTS – Depeche Mode WHISTLING IN THE DARK – Easterhouse WAITING FOR A TRAIN – Flash & the Pan Now I know I shouldn’t like this – it’s a daft, naff-ish pop single from the early 80’s, but it sure does bring a smile. THE RATTLER – Goodbye Mr McKenzie FORBIDDEN COLOURS – Sylvian & Sakamoto COUP – 23 Skidoo Awesome! ALMOST PRAYED – Weather Prophets UN-AMERICAN BROADCASTING / YOU’VE GOT THE POWER - Win Just realised all these 45’s are from the 80’s. See, it wasn’t such a bad decade!

That Robyn album is a near perfect pop artefact IMO, even down to her strangely odd but sexy image. When I first got it I just couldn't stop playing it. Had to ween myself off it like it was crystal meth pop or something.

I totally agree, I've never tired of that track I'd recommend the "Telstar" film too! It's out on DVD, but not sure if it's done in 'region 1' format yet etc. Yes. It's a great track. Quirky and beautiful. Johnny Remember Me by John Leyton, another Joe Meek masterpiece, is eerily wonderful as well. Possibly the first ever Goth track ? Perhaps more of a "death disc" than Goth? I love Telstar, which, hopefully, is the only thing I have in common with the undead bitch Thatcher.

Despite the Chemical Brothers' attempt to kidnap it and make it not so fresh.

Ha! I heard a Chemical Bros track the other day that I don't remember tbh - Out Of Control with Barney on vocs. I'm not much of a fan of the CB, apart from acouple of tracks, but I like that one.

You surpass yourself with Win, I've got Ugh Some Tears and Freaky Trigger on vinyl and CD. I'd never part with them! Great list tho, Keith.

Excellent list a23... especially the Makoto, Sand and Schnickert. Speaking of Gunter Schnickert one of the sort of holy grails on my want list is his Samtvogel album. Would about kill for the cd. Anyway your list has inspired me tonight to pull out my Ultrasonic Seraphim, a couple of solo Makoto works and my copy of Uberfallig and perhaps some G.A.M. and to let the music float me the hell out of this freezing town til the thaw (or at least the morning).
