Does Julian indulge in Reggae? Wonder if it's something he'd consider?

Think both Rough guide to Reggae and Bass Culture have some material on the uk scene. Probably not that long though.

Trying to think who was cool over here and didn't rapidly commercialise.

Steel Pulse do come to mind.
Think Aswad were good early on but then became a chart act and the music certainly seemed to water down. would assume that those 2 were somewhat intertwined.

Even UB40 were at least semi good early on but then became synonymous along with The Police (who also apparently were interesting very early on)
with why UK reggae has a bad name. Pop pap.

& I would 2nd or 22nd the shout out for On U Sound who are pretty 'kin awesome most of the time.

Jah shaka was UK based for most of his career if not all. As was the Mad Professor.
I don't think Burning Spear was though, was he? Think he's acknowledged Jamaican.

This thread has made me lust after those early Aswad albums - I used to love those, and I've been going through a bit of a regaae/dub phase lately.

just got Aswad in Dub from Demonoid before I left Galway. Probably others up now too.
Think Demonoid is slowly restocking its archives, certainly wasn't up to where it went off when it came back on. Do hope it lasts now.

Oh, it'll take me a while to come up with anything as sharp as you can, my hero.

How come over on the Village Pump you're alright? It's only on here when people talking about music you're not a self-proclaimed expert on that you turn in to a chest-beating macho cunt? It's not a wanking contest.

Anyway, i've had enough. I'm going ask my mum to hold my hand and ask her when my balls will drop. You fucking showed me.
