I'm not gonna rank 'em all, but here's a few I loved: Rasputina - Oh Perilous World The Fall - Reformation Post TLC Gogol Bordello -Super Taranta Mick Harvey - Two Of Diamonds Beasts Of Bourbon - Little Animals Gallon Drunk - The Rotten Mile Ed Kuepper - Jean Lee and the Yellow Dog Julian Cope - You Gotta Problem With Me Grinderman - Grinderman Probably some others I'm forgetting. Just can't stop listening to Rasputina at the moment. But I am intrigued about this Pentangle box set. I've heard a few things, but the only album I love is Cruel Sister.

Thanks for the honourable mention. It is indeed an honour. Nice to hear that much guitar noise on the radio. Of course if it wasn't for the Me'Shell record we might have even made the top ten ;-) but her record is a work of genius so I am pretty pleased just to be considered in the same musical paddling pool! BTW The new Mars Volta is excellent. Their best since the first ep and first album demos were circulating. I think Omar is over his Santana / Malo thing. Or maybe not!

Haven't heard the new Mars Volta yet (it's technically a 2008 release), but I have a hunch that one will be in the top 10 next year. I actually think they've been getting better with the last couple records . . . Amputechture was nice because for once it was in bite-size chunks, not an overarching Epic. The Damo LP is sort of a mini-epic (or really more of a "groove and shred jam", which is OK by me.) The Lunar Dunes CD scored somewhere around #12 by my pseudo-scientific method of accounting, and your band also charted as the 63rd most played artist on the show last year. Perhaps my favorite instrumental album of 2007 (along with Titan and Black Dice.) No vocals, no problem! Now go and record some more music please! :-)

Did you tune in to hear all those nice things I said about ya? ;-) FYI, Earthling Society also charted as the 10th most played artist on the show in 2007 -- I have now played all 7 tracks from "Andromeda" at least once, so it must be time for the next one right? :-D

Scab Dates was ok but not as good as the boots from the same tour. I am still pretty hooked on the first few things they did. I need to see them do that material live as they have not been to London since spring 2005. They were supposed to play outdoors in London in July 2006 but cancelled. They are here in March but I am kind of dreading seeing them without Jon Theodore. Who as you know is a total drum god. New Dunes record? Not this year unless something radical happens but we're going to start uploading live shows to our site.
