I sort of hope Bolan was moving away from the plodalong sessionist backing bands and gettting into something more exciting. The punky rhythm guitar parts on the Marc TV show versions of old hits certainly point that way.
Then there was the wild-eyed artrock tracks done with Bowie for the Marc Show, 'Sitting Next To You' and 'Madman'.
Does anyone here have the CDs of those September 77 sessions with Bowie?
I know there are incomplete and bad quality versions around, but apparently there are two top quality all takes CDs, 'Marc Bolan With David Bowie And Other Friends' (Bolan Collectors Series MBCS102) and 'The Last Sessions'.
I'd do all manner of ungodly things for a copy.
Incidentally, I've stuck a version of Madman by Cuddly Toys up on my MP3 blog
