Used to live next door to Broadrick and Christian when they started out in Godflesh, nice peeps, The noise they used to make belied what sweethearts they really were. Used to let me into gigs for free when they played locally. Loved his guitar histrionics, like Big Black on steroids.

He's gotta rank up there as one of the most prolific 'Noise' makers around....what with Napalm Death, God, Head Of David, Techno Animal, Ice, Godflesh, erm, the one with the shark on the cover (can't recall the name of the band) Fall Of Because etc, etc..
Not seen him in ages though. Last i heard he'd moved to the States.

Xmal were great!

'Fetisch' and 'Tocsin' were great albums.

Always thought they sounded a bit like The Banshees with a young sounding Nico on vocals (I suppose that's a bit obvious though!)

Anja Huwe - hmmmmm!
Manuela Rickers - phwoooaaaar!

Time for me tablet

I hear a "Red" influence in a few of these:
Voivod-Nothingface
Ved Buens Ende-Written In Waters
Virus-Carheart
some Slint songs
The Mars Volta-in general..if not Red then definitely some Fripp in there

More will come to me later, I'm sure..
