I have no problem with artists moving to major labels, myself. Provided they get paid, of course...and MOST importantly, provided they don't have to compromise what they're doing in the process. And IMHO, this is what happened when the Surfers moved from T&G to Rough Trade and thence to Capitol. In truth, though, the slide began with "Pioughd", which was still an indie release.

An example of this problem NOT happening would be what's gone on with The Boredoms. They went from tiny labels such as RRR and Public Bath (in Y's prior incarnation as Hanatarash) to Shimmy-Disc and then on to Warners, and at no point were compromises made. That's the way things should be.
