what a soundtrack last week could've had. Waiting for the postman to bring: 2x NWW CDs and Coil/Black Lights still not arrived from World Serpent, a company I suspect is run by one lazy man from his garden shed David Toop's companion CD to his Haunted Weather book...still lost in the aether after 3 weeks on order Coil Black Antlers/Live in Italy - CD-R burns promised but not arrived Next week I'll be waiting for delivery of all of the above, plus: Francoise Hardy ' La Question' and Shirley Collins 'Anthems in Eden' There's a lot to be said for record shops. Buy CD, take it home, play it. In the meantime... Buffy Sainte Marie - Illuminations ('God is alive, magic is afoot' on repeatrepeatrepeat) Coil Coil Coil and the CD that comes with England's Hidden Reverse, featuring Coil als x

That's all on there including the 2 photos from the centre of the gatefold. I've just bought a live video from Rome '93 that was on Gemm. I dunno if there'll be other copies of the thing though it was up there for ages. I had a great bootlefg from around then from Frankfurt that really showed off how great the rhythm section was. My first reaction to hearing them in full flight on this tape was wow, they coulda played Funhouse. I hadn't realy realised how fluent they were before. Unfortunately the tape got screwed up and I don't know where to get further boots. could try here http://www.caboots.com/product/ENGINEERBRN though I think they fit my feet better than my ears as do these http://www.caboots.com/product/MX and these http://makeashorterlink.com/?I5F423209 Stevo Np Gnidrolog

Ah, well send them a threatening email and a dead pigeon in a padded envelope - that usually works : )

...Just discovered your 'Rotter's Club' review here.....excellent stuff, I used to play the grooves off that album and it's strange how certain bits of tracks get the ol' juices flowing: >>Bookending the row is a keyboard lick from Stewart that is as addictive as a Crawfords Cheddar. It's tremendous. And it rocks too.<< Yeeeeesssss!! He seemed to take the Mike Ratledge/Dave Sinclair Organ sound to another level!! cheers for the memories Fitter! ~ JT ;-D

Don't know the album, but have you read the book? Namedrops Hatfield. Not exactly life changing, but a pretty enjoyable novel. Plenty of mentions of North Wales, too ; )

the album: Actually it was 'Canal Bound'* but I did get it on CD a coupla years ago! the book: Jonathan Coe ? A friend of mine used to rave about this book and as he was a 'sales rep' in the mid-70s, he would take great joy in reading a passage out that concerned the food at Bernie Inn! Never read it all myself, but one to (finally) investigate. *private joke! ;-D
