Actually, out of some 50 (rough count) of the British cities that existed at the end of World War II less than half were bombed; those were London, Portsmouth, Southampton, Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Birmingham, Coventry, Nottingham, Norwich, Ipswich, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Hull, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Newcastle, Glasgow and Belfast. That’s 22 out of 50. Some of those suffered far more damage than others.
As I say, though, 50 is a rough count (quite a few places have achieved city status since the War) so I stand to be corrected if it’s more or less than 50. Ditto more or less than 22.
Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh were other Scottish cities bombed during WW2.
