I've got to say I'm still shocked by the way the vote went in Wales, as one of the biggest net recipients of EU funding. To take a punt on the Tories in Westminster matching that funding seemed a very big gamble.

Isn't Germany pretty much the only solvent country left in the E.U.?
In any rational discussion about remaining/leaving, doesn't the question of who is actually doing the paying out need to be addressed?
And....how long are the recipients going to expect {as you say} better than 90% subsidizing?
Is Wales really in a welfare state condition...and by proxy Britain itself?
All other concerns about Trump and whatnot...i think the U.S./U.K. seems a better long term deal....
sooner or later, the child always looks after the parent.
Just sayin'....

I reckon it will be a done deal very much sooner than later.
As big a twat as Trump is, he did say that the U.K. was first at the negotiating table.
He had no choice himself,

Yes, quite, Cornwall voted out but is a net beneficiary of EU funding, especially for farming.

Neither Wales nor the UK are actually in a "welfare state" condition at all, but unfortunately for a lot of people in both Wales and the wider UK they - and outside observers like yourself - could be forgiven for thinking it. The UK is a rich country, but despite the ability to do so, the government we have at the moment will not spend money on services, unless its into the hands of "private providers", "private sector outsourcing", etc, where the cost to taxpayer is high and service is no better, or in many cases worse than it would be if it was provided directly by the state. And the NHS receives a very low per capita funding compared to the health services of EU neighbours.
Wales' problem is that although it has a "devolved" government, it still relies on funding being channelled to it via the UK government. The Welsh Assembly government only has very limited powers in respect of taxes. http://gov.wales/funding/fiscal-reform/welsh-taxes/?lang=en
At the moment the money that Wales receives from the EU undoubtedly comes from the UK in the first place (the UK does pay more into the EU than it gets back, the Leave campaign was correct about that, although they lied about the amounts involved). So Wales isn't being funded by other EU countries. But if the UK stops paying into the EU, and the EU stops paying Wales, the big question (I have a cynical view of what the answer will be) is whether the Westminster government will pay Wales the money that it used to get from the EU? If not, Wales will be in a big mess, especially in the rural areas that ironically voted Leave.

Not as shocked as most of us are here 71.6% turnout to shoot themselves in the foot. Like I say there's many here deeply regretting it especially the farmers who are going to be royally screwed. As you say the EU funding has been crucial to us but those who voted to leave don't seem to understand that things are going to get a lot worse, those figures are increasingly becoming more silent. It's really the two ukip members who are shouting about it and the usual petty racists who are just anti immigrant without any idea why.
On the other side of this there's been renewed calls for independence in Wales which is slowly but steadily growing. If Scotland leaves I expect NI and Wales will follow.

Yep, and although it saddens me I would not blame Scotland one bit for deciding they've had enough of Westminster.
As for the potential nightmare that the renewal of a hard border would bring to Northern Ireland, it hardly bears thinking about.
I'm not so sure (although you'll know better) how the loudly calls for a Wales IndyRef are being made, I've not heard much - even from Plaid really. But Wales is potentially in a mess if the Tories won't match the existing EU funding, as I've said to dhajjieboy here: http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/forum/?thread=75828&message=948989
