Vince Cable is been actively sidelined by the Lib Dem leadership since they got into government with the Conservatives. It was no coincidence that David Laws expenses misdemenors were exposed so soon after the election. That was Vince Cable's "people" getting their revenge for him being given a junior position in the government.
