It wasn't Einstein

Almost everything you say is spot on, ron. Colony Collapse Disorder is a very serious problem with potentially disastrous consequences for the entire ecosystem. A lot of analysts have come to the conclusion that it is being caused by over-intensive bee-keeping methods. One article that examines the "mobile phone" theory comes to this conclusion...
Raising dense colonies of bees narrows the genetic pool for a population, and less genetic variation weakens any species. In Turkey, where bees haven’t been cultivated as intensely as they have in Germany, for example, mass deaths like the ones observed now in Europe and the United States would be unimaginable.

All the same, while this is (yet another) critical issue, the pedant in me needs to point out that the quote attributed to Einstein is, in fact, made up. There's no record of him saying anything of the kind. And indeed, despite taking the quote at face value when I first read it; it actually isn't very "Einstein-like" in tone.

Nonetheless, we shouldn't let a misattributed quote distract us from the very serious problem of Colony Collapse Disorder. The trouble is; over-intensive farming methods are causing massive damage in all manner of areas... and there are those who appear willing to cause any amount of destruction as they allow the profit-motive to dictate their actions.
